MetaxuCafe Updates

Searching Member Sites
I’ve recently added a search function so that you can limit your Google search to just the blogs that are members of MetaxuCafe. I think that will be a good resource for everyone looking for literary topics online and you’ll find it right on the front page as well as other places on the site. Now if you want to read about, say Orhan Pamuk, but only want to search the litblogs you trust, you can narrow your search right here.

BAFAB Week coming in 8 days!

buyafriendabook.comYou thought I’d forgotten, eh? But no. I’ve just updated the Buy a Friend a Book (BAFAB) site for the upcoming BAFAB Week, which begins on April 1st. (Remember, BAFAB comes four times a year, in the first weeks of January, April, July, and October.) If you’re not already familiar with it, BAFAB is a quarterly holiday of, er, my creation which is intended to serve the dual purposes of promoting good books and, well, simply being a nice thing to do for one’s fellow man. The idea behind it is simple: during BAFAB Week, surprise someone with the gift of some thoughtfully selected book--a friend, your kid’s teacher, your mailman. Just because: good books, good karma.

If you go over to the site now you’ll see that I’ve updated the recommendations page. This BAFAB Week my guest reviewer/recommender is Alex Espinoza, the author of the recently released Still Water Saints. Click over to the reviews page to read his and my book recommendations.

buyafriendabook.comAs usual, you can publicize your participation in BAFAB and help spread the word about the holiday with BAFAB stickers and countdown timers for your site. Among these are some you can use to link to your own wish lists, such as the graphic on the right, if you want to give someone a hint as to what you would like for BAFAB. (No, mine’s not linked to anything.)

Happy BAFAB!
