I have to say that I was surprised at the number of entries.  When I first set up the contest and decided to give away 10 prizes, I thought there was no way I’d make it.  But, word spread and the stories kept rolling in.  I had to start reading early, and then often, but I made it!

There was such a great variety of genres: ghost stories, inspirational, true-life tales, experimental works, derivative works, and of course a fair number of traditional Santa stories!

I’m planning to post all of the stories AuthorStore.com over the next few days, starting with the winner, “Crown Point” by Julie Ann Shapiro!

So please join me in congratulating Julie Ann Shapiro and all the winners and participants of the 2006 Best Little Christmas Story Contest!!

First Prize - $100
“Crown Point” by Julie Ann Shapiro

Second Prize - $50
“A Sudden Hope” by Mary Delli Santi

Third Prize - $25
“The Proverb & The Remedy” by Rebecca Jane

Fourth Prize - $15
“Brown Socks” by Jennifer Gardner

Fifth - Tenth - $10
“The New Guy” by Allen McGill
“The Brief Haunting of Tiny Tim” by Angie Smibert
“Tears of Jude” by Janet Manuel
“Christmas Cookies” by Kathleen Maher
“Merry Christmas, Winky” by Mary Heare
“My First Christmas” by Cynthia Campos

Wow, this was so much fun I am definitely going to do it again next year!
