MetaxuCafe UpdatesSearching Member Sites
I’ve recently added a search function so that you can limit your Google search to just the blogs that are members of MetaxuCafe. I think that will be a good resource for everyone looking for literary topics online and you’ll find it right on the front page as well as other places on the site. Now if you want to read about, say Orhan Pamuk, but only want to search the litblogs you trust, you can narrow your search right here.
KidderLit: “TwitterLit for Kids” launched

TwitterLit has been serving up literary teasers now for about five months. Every morning and evening I post the first line of a book, with a link to Amazon so that readers intrigued by the line can click over to find out what book it’s from. I’ve selected first lines from all sorts of books, almost 300 so far, including young adult and children’s titles.
But now TwitterLit has a sister site: KidderLit is a “TwitterLit for Kids.” Every morning I’ll post the first line of a children’s or young adult book at KidderLit.com, with a link to Amazon. Readers can subscribe to receive the posts by RSS or email or on Twitter. And there are gadgets and widgets available at KidderLit.com that you can add to your web page or Google home page.
As I have with TwitterLit, I’ll be posting “thematic” entries on KidderLit occasionally--titles that are somehow relevant to the day they’re posted. (I posted several first lines at TwitterLit, for example, to celebrate the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.) Thematic entries will be marked as such when they appear on the KidderLit site. Part of the fun of TwitterLit and KidderLit is trying to guess the book a line comes from. And part of it is trying to figure out the thematic entries.
The fun starts tomorrow morning, September 26th, at 5:00 AM EDT. I hope younger readers and their parents, school librarians and teachers will have as much fun with KidderLit as I’ve had getting the site ready for its launch.
