Searching Member Sites
I’ve recently added a search function so that you can limit your Google search to just the blogs that are members of MetaxuCafe. I think that will be a good resource for everyone looking for literary topics online and you’ll find it right on the front page as well as other places on the site. Now if you want to read about, say Orhan Pamuk, but only want to search the litblogs you trust, you can narrow your search right here.

Long Overdue Review

by Winter on February 11, 2008

Looting of archaeological sites is big business in a thriving art and antiquities black market. When a desperate foreign government hires Desiree Jacobs’s security company to stop the hemorrhage, she runs afoul of a deadly art-for-drugs operation. Tony Lucano risks his rising career in the FBI to dive into the international underworld after her. Before either of them can come up for air, they must navigate through a deepening murk of ruthless looters, hair-trigger DEA agents, crooked government agents, and innocent bystanders caught up in an illegal trade beyond their understanding. Even if a miracle delivers Desi and Tony from evil, will their love survive the test?

Complete with a reader’s guide, this third book in the To Catch a Thief series explores the power of hope in the darkest of circumstances.

My Review:

So, I told you I was in the middle of reading this book when the tour went through my blog. A week ago I finished the book. I was disappointed it ended, but not disappointed in how Jill wrapped this series up. I was reading it in the hospital last week while getting my tests done and several times I had to squelch the urge to laugh out loud or scream. Jill pulls you into the lives of Desi and Tony so well, you feel like you’re right there with them. Not unlike many other authors out there. I had to read one line of Tony’s dialogue to my hubby, the result, he laughed too.

As always, usually is with the books I read because I’m so picky, the writing was crisp and tight. Never was there a moment I was pulled from the story by my internal editor. Jill makes her villains dislike-able, her secondary characters lovable, and her settings exotic. I wish the series hadn’t ended so soon, but Jill has promised a very exciting book to come. In her words: My next book is due out in February 2009 from Steeple Hill. This will be a different setting with different characters, but still a romantic suspense novel. Here’s a teaser: When a new business owner discovers on her property photos of a decade-old multiple murder, she and the surviving son of the massacre become the targets of a desperate and powerful killer.

Sounds like my kind of story.
