MetaxuCafe Updates

Searching Member Sites
I’ve recently added a search function so that you can limit your Google search to just the blogs that are members of MetaxuCafe. I think that will be a good resource for everyone looking for literary topics online and you’ll find it right on the front page as well as other places on the site. Now if you want to read about, say Orhan Pamuk, but only want to search the litblogs you trust, you can narrow your search right here.

The Conversation: National Book Critics Circle Good Reads List

by Bud Parr on May 08, 2008

Perhaps the best thing to be said for a list of books is the conversation surrounding it. If there’s no conversation the list has no real context and therefore, in my view, little value.

The National Book Critics Circle recently posted their ”Good Reads” list, created from polling their members, former award winners and finalists. It’s an interesting list and so is the discussion. They are posting tidbits on the books from those who nominated them, giving the list some interesting context.

There’s also a discussion in the comments about the process of how books get seen/reviewed/nominated.

See the list at the NBCC blog, Critical Mass.
