I'm a stay-at-home Mom (Mum?) training my kids to be bookworms. I was lucky enough to have access to some free books, and then persuaded several publishers to cough up review copies. The reviews are intended for parents, teachers, librarians and anybody else who refuses to grow up, or who readily admits to just looking at the pictures.
Favorite Authors
Right now, my favorite children's author/illustrator is Jon J. Muth, who created Zen Shorts, a fable that introduces Buddhist concepts to kids. I know that's weird; I don't really care. I sneak peaks at it from time to time for inspiration and find myself quoting it in conversations.
Favorite Topics
My reviews of children's literature are catagorized both by topic and age group to make browsing easier. You can find books for the holidays or on nature or space flight or African American history or pirates or biographies, whatever comes in over the transom and manages to get read.
