The postings on the main page, are they entered by the members themselves or are they selected by the avatar or blogmeister from the daily postings at the individual blogs?  I notice that most of them are from the member’s blog postings, and just wondered if you are encouraging entries or select from what’s available, as with the headlines.

Thanks.  This site has grown tremendously in the short period of time it’s been available, so obviously there’s been a real need for it and I applaud you, Bud, for putting it all together.

Those posts are direct from members. If you want to make a post (and I encourage it), just log in and select “new entry” at the top and the rest is pretty easy.

The idea is to post your original content: book reviews, essays of an length, or even shorter stuff. Really anything that you might think that you would like to share with a larger audience, archive or you think of as your “featured posts.” Also, think of posting things here that others might be posting on too - say you wrote a piece on 100 Years of Solitude and others were writing about it, it would be cool to post them in a central place - it’s much more of a conversation that way.

p.s. remember to try and always use categories when you post. If the category you want is not there, let me know. I’ll soon have a feature that member’s can add a category when they make a post.
