Then, Bud, the question becomes: what sort of breakdown are you considering? Would they be the same as the topic suggestions on the home page? If so, why not just expand what you get when you click on them?

Yeah, the breakdown would be - as I see it in my mind right now - by the categories everyone chose when they joined (which can always be changed). There would probably be an omni-headline too.

I like the wide variety of what’s to be found here.  In lieu of criteria, would you consider switching to a sponsorship policy whereby you can become a member if a current member is willing to nominate you?  I’m not saying it’s an idea I’m in love with and that it doesn’t need tweaking.  But it would take some of the onus off you and encourage current members to evaluate their decisions.

Just a thought.

Hey Brian - I like that idea -although I think I would be more inclined to do it after we’ve hit some zenith of membership and need something like that as a semi-constraint. Right now I review every site before accepting and I think that’s just going to be the norm for a while since I don’t want to be exclusionary in any way and just make sure that books are always the center of our discussion here.
