So - drumroll please - I have an essay in a collection on New Orleans that is coming out in February! It is all very exciting for me, mostly because it happened so crazy fast and because I love this press so very very much. They just put up a site for the book and what is really cool is that they are accepting preorders on it now with all preorder money going to New Orleans rebuild charities. I’m pretty impressed that they are doing this as Chin Music is a very small press, but one of the book’s editors lives in New Orleans, so he’s pretty determined to make this about the city as much as it is about the writing. I am pretty much the only one not from LA who wrote something for the book, but since I’ve loved the music forever, it wasn’t hard for me to get into the project (okay - I begged to be included!) ha!

Check it out if you get a chance and if you know anyone who is interested in the city, then point them in this direction. Chin Music creates books that are considered “literary objects” and part of what appealed to me about working with them is how beautiful their first book is. Browse their site and you will get a feel for how well they do things.

Now I’m going to happy dance for a little while!
