I know I do. Sometimes I feel like joining up some sort of spam police like those guys that pursued Al Capone.
Anyway, this doesn’t have anything to do with blogging technology, but I thought I would throw out this email address for the FTC’s anti-spam unit:
If you get one of those Nigerian scam emails or anything that seems like a scam, you can forward it to that address. Who knows if it does any good, but if feels better than just deleting.
As far as this site, we’ve been hit with spam from day one. So for non-members to leave a comment, they have to put in an email address and type in the captchas before submitting. Comments are also moderated for non-members so they won’t hit the site until we see that they’re not spam.
For members, if you’re logged in, you don’t have to do any of that. Your comments hit the site immediately and your information is already input.
