Effective and Fast Ways to Get Rid of Wasps
Wasps are the most dangerous stinging insects that can attack you. They normally sting their victims several times, as its sting is not similar to that of a honey bee, which is barbed. Wasps build their nests in attics, eaves and pouch roofs in the house. They can also be found in sheds and other similar environments. The wasp’s venom is very dangerous especially if the victim is allergic to the stings. Thankfully, there are several good ways to get rid of wasps.
There are two types of wasps; that is social and solitary. The social wasps are the ones that attack victims with stings and build nests in various places in and out of the house. Solitary wasps on the other hand do not build nests but lay eggs in a predators nest. These are good as they are used to get rid of other pests such as aphids and beetles. Once you notice wasps around your home, act very fast to get rid of the wasps before they cause you any trouble. Some of the techniques you can use to get rid of the wasps are:
Remove nests- this is one of the most effective ways to get rid of wasps, as the wasps will not have a place to stay. You are advised to do this before sunrise or after sunset as the wasps go back to their nests until sunrise. Ensure you put on protective gear like clothes made from rubber. This is because the wasps can go through clothes made from cotton or woolen clothes. Use fuels like diesel or kerosene to destroy underground nests. Carry a large wet cloth or towel and a shovel. After you have poured the kerosene at the entrance of the nest, quickly cover it with the wet cloth or towel. You do not have to start a fire, as the fumes are enough to get kill the wasps. When dealing with a hanging nest, you should also put on thick protective gear if you really want to get rid of the wasps. You are advised to use a pressurized bomb that has been specifically made for getting rid of wasps. Do not use household pesticides, as they will not give you results. Read all the instructions that come with the bomb to avoid any problems. Stand a few feet from the nest and aim the bomb directly to the wasp nest. Try to aim it at the mouth of the nest but do not worry if it hits any other place as it destroys al the wasps alongside the nest.
There are some home made strategies you can use to get rid of the wasps such as:
Smoking the entrance of the wasp nest. The smoke chokes most of the wasps and kills them while others will run away. You can also use traps to get rid of the wasps. Once needs liver that is placed on a tree. Place a milk can that has soapy water a few meters away from the liver. Wasps like liver and once they have fed on it they will feel lazy to fly back to the nest and fall on the soapy water. Here they drown and die as they cant fly in soapy water.
